Children's Developmental Disability Services

Valley Community Counseling is now providing developmental disability services for children age 3-17

Developmental Services are a combination of intervention, education, and support services for children who have been assessed and diagnosed as having a chronic developmental disability that appears before the age of 22 and is attributable to an impairment such as:

  • Intellectual disability
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Epilepsy
  • Autism Spectrum
  • Other closely related or similar condition.

These impairments must result in functional limitations in self-care, receptive and expressive language, learning, mobility, self-direction, capacity for independent living or economic self-sufficiency.

The purpose of developmental services is to teach individuals with developmental disabilities and their families the skills to adapt to their daily life and gain the highest level of independence they can achieve.
